Preparation
Preparing your quilt for our quilting service
Here are some quilt prepraration tips.
- Batting and Backing must be at least 6 inches wider and longer than the top
- Trim edges and clip all loose threads (You don’t want them to show)
- Square up your quilt top and back. A great deal of time can be saved is this is done correctly ahead of time.
- There should be no embelishments; Buttons, Beads, Decorative Loose items. These should be added after the quilting is completed.
- Press all seams so they lay in the direction you intend them to in the finished quilt
- If it’s not obvious due to the piecing methods used, mark the top of the quilt and backing to make it clear. (Safety pin and a note is a preferred method)
- Do not baste the layers. They need to be individually installed on the machine. Separatly fold them when packing them for shipping.
- Please include binding material if you wish the binding to be attached. (Additional charges apply)
- Choose good quality 100% cotton materials for your top and back. It makes a difference.
- There is an additional $25 charge if the quilt needs to be pressed when it arrives.
SHIPPING
- If you mail your quilt, include your contact information (Name, Address Phone number) in the box. We will need to call you when it arrives.
- Use Package Tracking when shipping your quilt.
- List the contents as "BEDDING" and never as "QUILT". In fact, do not place the word "QUILT" anywhere on the outside of the package.
